A hapless burglar had to be rescued by police during a break-in – after he got stuck in a window for five hours. The shoeless man – wearing jeans and black socks – had to be retrieved by officers after desperately crying  out for help when he got trapped in the tight spot. A hilarious picture taken by West Midlands Police on Thursday shows the crook with his body half  inside the window with his legs dangling out. Shortly after being freed from the window, the red-faced crook was taken into police custody. Pope Francis has requested that Roman Catholic priests be given the right to get married. The request applies to priests in Brazil, and is on the agenda for an  upcoming synod (church council) in the Amazon region A small number of married Roman Catholic priests already exist, including previously married Anglican vicars who have joined the church. A request to lift the ban on marriage was made by Brazilian bishop Cardinal Claudio Hummes, who reportedly asked the Pope to consider ‘viri probati’, meaning married of great faith, as priests. Derry priest Father Paddy O’Kane suggested that Pope Francis may move to end celibacy earlier this month, saying there was support amongst the church for the idea. Earlier this year the Pope told Die Zeit newspaper: ‘We must consider if ‘viri probati’ is a possibility.                           Japanese media is reporting that the incident took place at the construction site of a new underground nuclear development in the North East of the country. At least 200 people are thought to have been killed at a nuclear test site in North Korea after a tunnel collapsed on top of them. According to Japanese television reports, at least 100 people were trapped in tunnels before a failed attempt to rescue them lead to a reported 200 deaths. It is believed that the incident occured at the weakening ground site of North Korea's nuclear test facility in the wake of a sixth nuclear test earlier this month, though reports are yet to be independently corroborated.
